With the latest flx for many moviegoers and comic book junkies hitting theaters, many controversies are arising. "The Dark Knight," the latest film in the Batman series, has thus far received a near unprecedented six month run of pre-release hype due to starring actor Heath Ledger’s overdose on January 22nd. Critics are overwhelmingly in love with it already, to the point where some are saying that Ledger could be nominated for an Academy Award for playing the role of The Joker; a stretch, especially for this genre. But the movie is almost guaranteed to break some sort of record or two. Ledger aside, the big question is, will Christian Bale be able to cement the status of "The Best Batman Ever !" Who gets your vote?

Actress Amanda Peet was forced to apologize for statements arising from her militant pro-vaccination stance after going to the surprising extreme of uttering, "parents who don’t vaccinate their children are parasites," in an interview with Cookie Magazine. Due to the backlash, Peet issued an apology on the magazine’s website, stating that her use of the word "parasite" was divisive and understood why it offended parents of autistic children, "who feel that vaccines caused their illness. For this, I’m truly sorry." She did not back down from her stance however, stating that the decision not to vaccinate children "bodes for a dangerous future," as well as, "there is no association between autism and vaccines."

Actress Minnie Driver plans on keeping the baby fat around her belly after she gives birth(she’s due in early August), unlike many actresses who immediately go back into full workout mode. "That’s unhealthy and horrifying to me. Plan on seeing me fat, walking around Malibu, and proud of it." she said. Nothing wrong with that, but will she feel the same way when she wants to… you know… work.

Tommy Lee is apparently so proud of his on-again girlfriend/ex-wife Pamela Anderson, he has allegedly taken to showing off naked pics of her to his friends. "Tommy is as proud to be Pam’s man as when they first got together. Pam is 41, but looks every inch the Playboy bunny she was and Tommy has the proof. Former Nickelodeon star, 22-year-old Amanda Bynes and cartoon creator, 34-year-old Seth MacFarlane, may be Hollywood’s latest couple. The Family Guy and American Dad producer, who recently scored a 100 million dollar deal for his creations and the beautiful Bynes were recently spotted togethr at the Fox network’s summer press tour event in Santa Monica California. While some sources are not sure if the two are definitely an item, one source claims that McFarlane was running after Bynes during the party and shunning the press, something totally out of his usual "animated" character. Bynes has done an episode of Family Guy, and a spokesperson for Bynes says that they may just be "friends" because of that collaboration. Sure!

After discovering that guests are required to wear helmets when in the studio with Pulse 87 air personality Showboat, authorities are launching an investigation into whether or not Showboat is just too much excitement, energy and flavor for NY radio. Authorities are requesting that listeners put on chinstraps, knee and elbow pads before tuning in. Showboat who broadcasts from 2pm to 7pm weekday evenings, is reportedly being investigated after getting the party started so hard that he has tore up the studio and knocked the air wave signal off-air several times. Actors Josh Brolin (pictured above) and Jeffrey Wright were arrested along with five others Saturday morning in Louisiana after being involved in a bar fight, police said. The actors are there shooting the film "W", a movie about President George W. Bush in which Brolin plays Bush and Wright plays former Secretary of State Colin Powell. All arrested were involved in the movie. Brolin is best known for starring in 2007 movies "American Gangster" and "No Country For Old Men," last year’s Best Picture winner. Wright has received a Tony as well as a Golden Globe award for playing the same role in the Broadway and television mini-series versions of "Angels in America."
