It seems as if a DUI charge, as well as the fact that he doesn’t play any defense, is making Denver All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony readily available for any team that comes along with the right deal. With the NBA draft lottery approaching, Denver has reportedly been letting it be known around the league that Anthony can be had for the right price. As of now, it is known that the Nets have contacted the Denver higher ups in regards to him. The Nets new GM Kiki Vandeweghe, himself a former All-Star, drafted Anthony when he was the GM of the Nuggets.

Actress Denise Richards was interviewed by on "Larry King Live" this week, where she revealed that her relationship with her ex-husband Charlie Sheen is not good at all. The floodgates are-a opening. George Takei of "Star Trek" fame is jumping to light speed(o.k. , that’s a "Star Wars" reference) as he becomes the latest gay star to take advantage of the California Supreme Court ruling to allow gay marriage, as he has announced that he will wed his long time partner, Gary Altman. "At long last, the barrier to full marriage rights for same-sex couples has been torn down." Takei said. Takei first came out in 2005 in order to talk against a veto by California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger of a same-sex marriage law. This follows in the recent footsteps of Ellen Degeneres, who also recently announced her plans to wed girlfriend Portia de Rossi due to the same Supreme Court ruling. Someone better put out an APB for Sinead O’Connor and Tevin Campbell. Question: Is Lil’ Richard the only famous living black man that has ADMITTED that he is gay(after he got saved and said he doesn’t live that life anymore, of course.)?

According to recent reports, the on again off again relationship between actor Owen Wilson and and actress Kate Hudson is apparently off again. Wilson 38, and Hudson 28, starred together in 2006’s "You, Me and Dupree", hit some rough times last summer on or about the time that Wilson, allegedly, attempted suicide.  The couple rekindled their relationship shortly thereafter, and Wilson was hot and heavy with talk about the couple being married with children no later than the Summer of 2008.  It appears that Wilson recently popped the question, and was summarily rejected by Hudson who is 10 years his junior.  Wilson may need to continue to crash weddings ("Wedding Crashers" - 2005) just a little bit longer until he gets this relationship thing right.  No word on whether or not our man Owen is on suicide watch.

In a weird and very "suspect" variation of a good-luck charm, New York Yankees slugger Jason Giambi admitted to wearing gold thongs with a flame-lined waistband whenever he is in a hitting slump. Not only that, but he has shared his lucky charm with other players, including Derek Jeter and Johnny Damon. The thong is only worn during bad spells in performance at bat and according to reports in the May 17th New York Daily News, it is available to any player that requests it. There are concerns as to the care and cleaning of said underwear, but Giambi says that they are washed between wearings. The thongs were first given to him in 1996 as a joke, but he’s worn them ever since.

In this week’s upcoming showdown between American Idol finalists rocker David Cook and young David Archuleta, online bookies have given Cook a 74% chance of winning the Idol title compared to Archuleta’s 32% odds. It’s a good thing for Archuleta’s father, the stage dad from hell, that the bookies aren’t the show’s usual voting demographic.

Hicks’ career was in need of a boost since being dropped from his record deal with J records. His run is scheduled to end on Sept. 7th. His self titled album was released in Dec. 2006, yet failed to go platinum or register a hit song, unlike previous "Idol" winners.
